The Most Thoughtful Gift I Could’ve Received…

Hello Everyone,

I’m going to talk about an early Christmas gift that I given by my Mum this year. This will only be a short post but this is honestly the best gift, and so I wanted to talk about it sooner rather than later.

As many of you know, I lost my dad really suddenly in May. It was such a shock, as he was so young and not previously ill and so it really shook us up. We are a close family, and such a loss really hit us hard.

My Auntie recommended Misty Waters, based on Frederick Street in Sunderland, as she is a fantastic seamstress and makes Memory Cushions. Here you pick your loved ones favourite shirt and Misty Waters will turn it into a cushion cover. This recommendation came, as my Uncle only passed last December, and my Auntie had found the cushions to be a huge comfort.

They are not in any way expensive, and can even be personalised with patches and poems. Everything is hand made and I honestly cannot thank Tracey enough for all of her work, and how beautifully these tributes have turned out.

I used my Dad’s cowboy shirt that he wore for his Texas themed birthday party last year. He loved it, even through we all joked about how it looked, he really felt a million dollars in it, and so for me, it felt like the perfect choice. We also had others made using t-shirts and sports wear. There really isn’t a thing that doesn’t look amazing.

I highly recommend this as a gift for anyone. It is such a thoughtful idea, and it doesn’t break the bank. It just helps you to feel that little bit closer to lost loved ones, which at this time of year can be particularly hard.

Thank you for reading this one, I’m sorry it’s a little bit of a low one while everyone is finding their festivities, but I hope you enjoyed the read nonetheless.

Thank You Mam, for such an amazing gift. I love you.
