So this is my first month of being a BirchBox subscriber, I’m super excited. I have heard so many good things about BirchBox which is why I have picked them over the likes of Ipsy or GlossyBox.
BirchBox is £10 per month and £2.95 for postage, but you can buy for 6 and 12 months in advance. I feel this is great value for money, as samples included contain high end brands which can cost a small fortune. So BirchBox is an excellent way to try brands without paying extreme costs, for something you may not like.
So included in this months box is:
Batiste, Oomph my Locks XXL Volume Spray (50ml)
This product isn’t really for me. I’ve not really had a problem with hair volume so I honestly don’t think I’ll use it all that much. However, I do like the way it contains keratin to help strengthen the hair and provide care for it.
NUXE Paris, Precious Scented Shower Oil (30ml)
This smells delicious, and literally looks like liquid gold. It shimmers so much. It leaves the skin feeling amazing. I like to use it after shaving my legs as it leaves them feeling silky soft.
Whish, Almond Body Butter (22ml)
This is another product that smells delicious, like fresh marzipan. It is so hydrating on the skin and a little goes a very long way! It dries quickly into the skin and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy afterwards like some moisturisers can. I LOVE this product!
Bioderma, Moisturising Make-up Remover (20ml)
This stuff is a miracle worker. My makeup just seems to melt off and it leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated unlike a lot of makeup removers that can leave my skin feeling dry and over cleansed. I’m definitely going to consider buying the full sized product, I just wish the sample was bigger.
ModelCo, Cheek and Lip Tint – Just Peachy (Full Size – 3.6g)
At first I was really skeptical of this. I’ve not had much look with Cream blush products so I wasn’t sure I’d like this. However the product applies beautifully on the skin and blends really nicely. It’s easily buildable too and doesn’t dry streaky to give a really natural blush. It is such a pretty colour.
The box also included some discounts within the BirchBox store, I received 15% off. I also received a free LaLaLab box which gives me up to 36 photos!
I also used the code BOXDUO to receive a bonus box this month as it was BirchBox’s birthday! This was a lovely little makeup bag filled with even more products! I’m highly impressed.
This bonus included:
Parlor, Volumising Lifting Spray (30ml)
I was quite surprised that this product didn’t have a smell. Unfortunately though, I have no real need for volumising products as it isn’t a problem i have encountered.I think I will only be using this product for its heat protection benefits.
Anatomicals, Coconut and Mango Body Lotion (50ml)
Firstly, WOW! What a sample size.Especially with so little doing so much. Secondly, Smoother butts really do love coconuts. I am a sucker for anything containing coconut, especially the smell. I am obsessed with the smell of this product! Give me more please!!
Rituals, Hammam Body Mud (70ml)
Again..What a sample size!! I took this in the shower with me feeling a little skeptical (I don’t know why), but I certainly had no reason to be. This left my skin feeling amazing, so smooth and soft. The only downfall was the very strong tea-tree like smell, while I’m well aware of all the benefits to the skin, it’s strength caused my eyes to water so much. I don’t think I could use this as a body mask the way it suggests.
Balance Me, Radiance Face Mask (15ml)
I have a small confession to make. I couldn’t open this product because I’m wearing a set of false nails and under the cap is a very thin layer of foil which my nails couldn’t grasp. I’m a failure I know. I’ll probably tweet a review when I finally get it open (or my boyfriend is here to do it for me).
English Laundry, Notting Hill (2ml)
This is a pretty little perfume sample, and is of a standard perfume sample size. The scent is quite light and airy and not fruity like a good majority of female products (I like fruity!!) I don’t feel as though I will buy the full sized version of this, however it is nice… just not for me.
Marcelle, Waterproof Eyeliner – Mulberry (0.8g)
I am a huge fan of this eyeliner. As I’ve only recently ventured out of the realms of perfect black eyeliner into the world of colour I feel this is a perfect product for me. It’s dark but not black and has a very subtle shimmer (which my camera can’t seem to detect!) I feel it will be perfect for the autumn season.
I need to send a huge thank you to BirchBox as there were so many issues with delivery, and they handled it so nicely and ensured I received everything and even resent the order after a failed delivery attempt. They really are an excellent company.
Thank you for reading! Please let me know if this is something you’d like me to do every month or if you’d like me to try other subscriptions (Please remember I’m a student!) Don’t forget you can follow me on Instagram and Twitter (@AmyAdores_) and even like my facebook page!
